LOCATION RECCE

LOCATION RECCE

Crucible Park

In our short film, it is set in the middle of the COVID19 Pandemic, to capture the themes of isolation- we chose Crucible Park, a place that is normally filled with people and life and capture it in a moment where no-one is there to capture the feeling of loneliness and isolation. The characters in this short film feel trapped and isolated and want to go outside, but they have to result to Zoom to meet up instead whereas they would usually meet up here. The main protagonist is going to look outside their window feeling trapped instead, looking to the park wishing that they could be there.

Home/Bedrooms

At home in the characters bedrooms is going to be the main location(s) in our short film. As our short film is set in the COVID19 pandemic, a lot of the people watching the short film will relate to being stuck indoors and having to result to using programs like Zoom to communicate. As our short film is a killer mystery, we want it to make it seem like our characters are trapped/helpless and are going to be forced to play the game that the unknown caller suggests. The rooms in the short film is going to be like a prison cell for the characters, hence some of the lighting making bars on the characters.

School Gallery

We want to keep our short film: scary, dark and mysterious. The main antagonist's identity is going to be kept a secret and is a mysterious yet pose them as a threat so viewers can fear for the main characters as this mysterious person is posing as a threat. The School Gallery is a small and dark room with quite a few computers in it, with this it makes the main character look powerful and threatening as with the amount of technology in the room it can make the unknown caller look all knowing and deadly.

An Alleyway

People usually associate dark alleyways/alleyways in general with danger and shady business; Alleyways are usually low in lighting and mysterious in nature, with a possible impending threat and danger with them as the space is so narrow. As Alleyways are small, they can add to the theme of feeling trapped and isolated, not only that but it could show that one of our characters are up to no good and create a mysterious aura and get the viewers to ponder why they are there.
